Just a few months later, Miki and I are spending part of the lesson speaking in only Chinese! Miki's English is also excellent, so she is able to figure out when an English-speaking student is making a mistake in Chinese that comes from commonly-used English syntax. She breaks down words and phrases into smaller parts that are easy to remember (and often are funny mnemonics). She even spends time after lessons and records vocabulary and dialogue from the lesson for practice later. I take the audio recordings and break them down into audio flashcards, which are SO helpful for practicing listening. I really can't recommend Miki enough.
